French sculptor and visual artist Coralie Laverdet graduated from the famous Ecole Boulle and the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 2011, the artist received the second prize for the 7th International Paper Triennial in Charmey (Switzerland). Wood and paper offer an infinite choice of textures that the artist exhibits on a large scale. Her inspiration comes from the unusual forms in nature and by the curiosities as well as the vibrations that those forms generate or arouse.

This profusion of artistic media allying traditional crafts and a more contemporary vision has given the artist a place carved in the modern art tradition. Coralie Laverdet explores matter and forms through poetic, sensitive and sensual language. She plays with the fusional and sometime intricate relationship between the wood and paper fibre.
