The chosen works of the artist Véronique Borens denote a rich territory of images and reflections from her past, linear perspectives and glimpses from both her Belgian homeland and Lake Geneva, her homeland by adoption for more than ten years. The artist’s works follow two very distinct paths: one closer to nature, more earthy, favouring sensuality, volume and horizons; the other more geometric where the stark forms sometimes dare the emancipation searching for space, freedom and dreams. The art of Véronique Reper is essentially the art of suggestion.

Having initially enjoyed working with warm tones and the effects of light and shade, she began to experiment further, extending her colour range and developing her technique, from oil to pastel and latterly to acrylic. In doing so, the artist moved away from a once often monochrome palette to one using a great range of tones and shades, largely inspired by nature. Oil and acrylic remain her principal

The artist’s fertile and fascinating imagination is capturing and portraying her work with new techniques and added texture including amongst others her collages where the textrure brings the imaginary closer to the reality. Techniques and textures that demonstrate her ever-evolving style.
